The Clos del Rey Estate is a magnificent vineyard located in the wine region of Côtes du Roussillon Villages in France. Nestled in the heart of Catalan country, in the Agly Valley, this estate is nestled between sea and mountains, offering a picturesque and idyllic setting for the production of high-quality wines. Covering an area of about 13 hectares, the vineyard is south facing and benefits from an exceptional microclimate. What distinguishes the Clos del Rey Estate lies in its unique terroir and its winemaking philosophy oriented towards respect for nature. The estate's soil is mainly composed of black schists, which give the wines remarkable concentration and complexity. The vines, some of which are over 60 years old, are traditionally grown and receive no irrigation. This respectful approach to nature allows for the production of the highest possible quality of grapes, full of flavor and terroir expression. At the Clos del Rey Estate, production is divided between different grape varieties, notably Carignan and Black Grenache for red wines, and White Grenache and Macabeu for white wines. The harvest is carried out manually, and the grapes are sorted in the vineyard and cellar to ensure optimum quality. The wines are then traditionally made with slow fermentation and maturation in foudres or concrete vats, to preserve the authentic taste of the wine. The wines produced on this estate are characterized by their balanced structure, rich aromatic palette, and ageing potential. The spicy notes, ripe fruit aromas and sublime minerality make them wines worthy of the most discerning palates.
