Rich, ample whites with a golden robe, showing aromas of pear, quince, honey, smoke, ginger and spice. Made as structured dry wines (Alsace AOC), off-dry and sumptuous late-harvest sweet (vendange tardive, sélection de grains nobles). Lighter and crisper in Italy as Pinot Grigio (Veneto, Friuli). The wine region of Côtes de Sambre et Meuse

Belgium's first organized PDO (Wallonia, 2004) in the Meuse basin (Sambre, Ourthe, Amblève, Semois), ~30 ha on clay-limestone soils, cool northern climate. Chardonnay flagship white: lively and straight with green apple, citrus, white flowers and mineral touch, tense thirst-quenching acidity. Full Pinot Gris, floral Auxerrois and aromatic Müller-Thurgau in whites. Airy Pinot Noir in light red.

The wine region of Wallonie

Southern Belgian vineyard (~36% of national production), clay-limestone and schist soils, cool temperate climate. Signature Chardonnay as white king (32% of Belgian vineyard): taut and precise with notes of citrus, green apple, white flowers and chalky touch — base of fresh sparklers and chiseled whites on the rise. Aerial Pinot Noir (cherry, raspberry, undergrowth), round Pinot Meunier. Crémant de Wallonie as flagship specialty.

The word of the wine: Musky
