DOC of Salento (Lecce: Leverano, Arnesano and part of Copertino), Mediterranean climate and varied soils. Negroamaro (≥50%) is the flagship red — full-bodied and solar with intense notes of ripe cherry, plum, dark fruits, tobacco and a refined balsamic-southern character, round tannins. Malvasia Nera, Primitivo and Montepulciano as fruity complements (≤40%). Malvasia Bianca (≥50%) and Vermentino as lively whites with citrus.
