Also vinified sparkling and widely exported (Sonoma, Margaret River, Casablanca). A Burgundian variety, a cross of Pinot Noir × Gouais Blanc, half-sibling of Aligoté.
DOC of Friuli-Venezia Giulia in the province of Udine facing the Marano lagoon, alluvial plain near the Adriatic. Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Malvasia Istriana as complements. Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso as the signature red with ripe red fruits, herbs and a slightly bitter finish.
