The wine region of Mount Carmel is located in the region of Samaria of Israel. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Somek or the Domaine Somek produce mainly wines red, white and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Mount Carmel are Cabernet franc, Petit Verdot and Viognier, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Mount Carmel often reveals types of flavors of microbio, oak or citrus fruit and sometimes also flavors of tropical fruit, spices or red fruit.
In the mouth of Mount Carmel is a powerful with a lot of tannins present in the mouth. We currently count 3 estates and châteaux in the of Mount Carmel, producing 15 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Mount Carmel go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, spicy food or pork.
