The wine region of Pitsilia is located in the region of Lefkosia of Cyprus. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Tσiakkaς or the Domaine Tσiakkaς produce mainly wines white, red and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Pitsilia are Merlot, Chardonnay and Agiorgitiko, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Pitsilia often reveals types of flavors of non oak, earth or microbio and sometimes also flavors of vegetal, oak or tree fruit.
We currently count 3 estates and châteaux in the of Pitsilia, producing 21 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Pitsilia go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, game (deer, venison) or rich fish (salmon, tuna etc).
The agreement formed part of a bilateral trade agreement between the European Union and the Kiwi government. It affords sparkling winemakers in Veneto trademark protection, ensuring that fizz produced in other countries cannot be labelled ‘Prosecco’ in New Zealand.
