GI sub-region of Great Southern (Western Australia, ~70 ha) on the south coast around Albany: Pinot Noir is the signature with a refined cool-climate profile, elegant Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling and Shiraz as complements. Temperate Mediterranean climate moderated by the "Albany Doctor" — a sea breeze arriving daily at 1 pm, humidity ~85%. Lateritic, sandy-gravelly and sandy-loamy soils on gneiss bedrock.
