Supple, fruity reds with a deep purple robe, smooth tannins and moderate acidity, showing aromas of red and black fruits (cherry, blackberry, plum), sweet spices and floral notes. Round, approachable young, easy-drinking wines. Star of Côtes du Marmandais AOC, identity pillar of the appellation alongside cabernet and merlot, also present in Buzet AOC and Fronton AOC. The wine region of Traisental

Youngest wine region of Austria (1995, DAC 2006) in Lower Austria: signature Grüner Veltliner as king white (>60%) — fresh, fruity and spicy signature with white pepper, lemongrass, citrus and a saline touch, signature chalky mineral spine from loess soils. Elegant Riesling complement (~6%) — dense with citrus, green apple and minerality, notable ageing potential. DAC, conglomeratic limestone soils, signature full body.

The wine region of Weinland

Vast German-speaking region in north-eastern Switzerland, the country's largest production area. Signature Pinot Noir (Blauburgunder): fine, fresh reds with notes of cherry, raspberry, undergrowth and sweet spices, silky tannins. Elegant, delicate style, often barrel-aged. Also light, floral Müller-Thurgau (Riesling-Sylvaner), lively, lemony native Räuschling, ample Pinot Gris.

The word of the wine: Heady

Said of a wine rich in alcohol, powerful and expressive.
