Discover the grape variety: Nero

An interspecific cross between Merlot Noir or Medoc Noir x Perle de Csaba and Villard Blanc x Gardonyi Geza, obtained in Hungary in 1965 by Josef Csizmazia. It can be found in the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Poland, etc. In France, it is practically unknown. It should not be confused with two Italian grape varieties, the nero d'Avola and the nero di troia or uva di troia. Note that it is an ideal variety for amateur gardeners for the simple fact that it does not fear the main cryptogamic diseases such as mildew and oidium, to have an early maturity and moreover its grape is very tasty.

The wine region of Pinerolese

The wine region of Pinerolese is located in the region of Piémont of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Le Marie or the Domaine Coutandin produce mainly wines red, pink and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Pinerolese are Chatus, Avana and Freisa, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Pinerolese often reveals types of flavors of non oak, oak or black fruit and sometimes also flavors of earth, vegetal or tree fruit.

The wine region of Piedmont

Piedmont (Piemonte) holds an unrivalled place among the world's finest wine regions. Located in northwestern Italy, it is home to more DOCG wines than any other Italian region, including such well-known and respected names as Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera d'Asti. Though famous for its Austere, Tannic, Floral">floral reds made from Nebbiolo, Piedmont's biggest success story in the past decade has been Moscato d'Asti, a Sweet, Sparkling white wine. Piedmont Lies, as its name suggests, at the foot of the Western Alps, which encircle its northern and western sides and form its naturally formidable border with Provence, France.

The word of the wine: Servadou iron

A black grape variety from the southwest that produces a wine with spicy tannins and black currant and raspberry aromas. Under the name of Mansois, it is the main grape variety of Marcillac; it is also one of the important varieties of Gaillacois, where it is called Braucol. It is also used in the blends of other South-Western appellations (Fronton, Lavilledieu, Estaing, Madiran). Syn.: braucol, pinenc, mansois.
