Sandy-loam soils on east-west slopes, cool nights and warm days — slow ripening, low pH, intense colour and complex aromas.

Sharp, iodised Sauvignon Blanc (Walker Bay, Constantia), balanced Chardonnay. Reds: emblematic Pinotage with roasted aromas (coffee, plum, smoke), firm Cabernet Sauvignon, spicy Syrah.
