The wine region of Maipu
Maipu is a wine-growing sub-zone of Argentina's largest viticultural region, Mendoza. A historic wine region, Maipu is home to some of Mendoza's top-quality and high end producers of Bright, intense, red wine from Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. It is also possible to macerate after fermentation, but gently, so as not to extract the tannins from the seeds, which are greener. Because of its solvent power, alcohol favours extraction.
