Almost extinct, preserved in INRAE ampelographic collections. Testifies to the pre-phylloxera ampelographic heritage of the South-West. Rare French white grape formerly grown in the South-West.

The wine region of Slovakia

Central European vineyard dominated by whites (75%). Signature Veltlínske Zelené (Grüner Veltliner): lively, peppery whites with notes of green apple, citrus, fresh herbs and a touch of white pepper. Fresh, lemony Welschriesling, supple Müller-Thurgau, round Pinot Blanc, mineral Riesling. Slovak Tokaj (907 ha shared with Hungary): sweet botrytised Furmint (honey, dried apricot, quince).

White grape variety from the Allier region, identical to the Sacy variety grown in Burgundy. Rarely vinified on its own, it is used in the blending of Saint-Pourçain white wines, associated with chardonnay, the main grape variety of the appellation. Syn.: sacy.
