Located in the heart of Spain's Rioja wine region, the Remelluri estate is a true icon of Spanish viticulture. With a history spanning over five centuries, the Remelluri estate is a genuine representation of the Spanish passion for wine, combining tradition and innovation to produce exceptional wines. The Remelluri estate spans over 154 hectares of vineyards, nestled in the rich rolling lands of the Rioja. The location is renowned for its unique alkaline soil, rich in limestone, allowing for the production of wines with complex and sophisticated aromas. The vineyards are planted with a variety of grapes, from the classic Rioja reds such as Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Graciano, to less common white varieties such as Viura and Malvasía. One of the most remarkable aspects of the Remelluri estate is their commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment. They practice biodynamic farming, maintaining the natural balance of the vineyard and using only natural processes to cultivate and produce their wine. This is complemented by meticulous winemaking, where wines are aged in French and American oak barrels, and bottled without filtration, to preserve their pure and original character. The winery of the Remelluri estate is another element worth mentioning. It is a fascinating blend of old and new, where century-old tunnels carved into the rock coexist with modern winemaking equipment. This is where the magic happens, transforming the fruit of meticulous labor in the vineyards into a range of wines that captivate all who have the privilege to taste them.

Discover the grape variety: Marsanne

Marsanne is a white grape variety that originated in Montélimar in the Drôme, several centuries ago. Marsanne is also found in Cassis, Savoie, Languedoc-Roussillon and Saint-Péray in the Ardèche, where it produces remarkable sparkling wines. The warm, sunny climate of the Rhone Valley, Languedoc-Roussillon and Provence, as well as the dry, stony soil, are ideal conditions for its development. Its bunches are quite large and provide small, juicy berries that are sensitive to grey rot and strong winds. These two grape varieties complement each other perfectly: together they give light wines with little acidity, aromas of yellow fruit, white fruit and flowers with notes of honey and liquorice. This is for example what the appellations Saint-Péray, Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Côtes-du-Vallée du Rhône, Corbières, or Cassis express... which represent about 700 hectares.
