High-altitude AVA (up to 3,000 ft, AVA 2006) in Yakima Valley and Columbia Valley (Washington): Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon signature dominant reds — dense with ripe black fruits and fleshy tannins. Fleshy and deep Syrah with aromas of blackberry, pepper and smoked meat. Lively Riesling white king, taut with citrus and minerality. Also Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec.
