It was given until then as coming from a cross between Riesling and Sylvaner, but genetic tests have shown that its father is the Bouquettraube (Bukettrebe), and it is closely related to the Kerner. The wine region of Roero is located in the region of Piémont of Italy. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Cascina Riveri or the Domaine Negro Angelo produce mainly wines white, red and sweet.
