The wine region of Colli dell'Etruria Centrale

Tuscan DOC (1990) covering the major Chianti zones (Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Pistoia, Pisa), a stylistic retreat from Chianti DOCG offering greater freedom. Sangiovese (≥50%) leads the reds: balanced, lively cherry, plum, violet and spice notes, firm tannins. Trebbiano Toscano (≥50%) leads the whites: fresh and light, white flowers and citrus. Vin Santo for sweetness and amber Occhio di Pernice with dried fruit, honey and caramel.

The wine region of Tuscany

Kingdom of Sangiovese: upright reds with cherry, plum, dried herbs and leather, lively acidity and firm tannins. Fleshy, food-friendly Chianti Classico DOCG, deep long-ageing Brunello di Montalcino (spice, tobacco, ripe black fruit), elegant Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. On the coast, Bolgheri crafts the opulent Cabernet- and Merlot-based 'Super Tuscans'. Some fresh white Vernaccia.

The word of the wine: SR

A company of harvesters and handlers who have pooled their equipment (press, vats, etc.).
