The Johanneshof Reinisch Estate is a renowned vineyard located in the wine-growing region of Niederösterreich in Austria, globally recognized for its sub-regions of Weinviertel, Wachau, and Thermenregion. The estate is a dazzling example of Austrian winemaking art, imbuing each bottle with the imprint of its terroir. The history of the Johanneshof Reinisch Estate dates back generations, when the ancestors of the Reinisch family planted their first vineyards. Today, the estate is meticulously managed by the three Reinisch brothers - Hannes, Christian, and Michael - who passionately uphold the tradition of viticulture. Spanning approximately 40 hectares of vine, the estate hosts a range of grape varieties, dominated by St-Laurent and Pinot Noir. It is distinguished by its commitment to organic farming, where every viticulture practice is carried out with respect for the environment. Vines are plowed by hand and all cultivation operations are conducted without the use of pesticides or chemical herbicides. The vineyard site is bathed in a unique microclimate due to its proximity to the Vienna mountains and the Viennese River to the east, promoting a slow and gentle maturation of the grapes. The loamy soils of loess and limestone impart a distinct mineral characteristic to the resulting wines. The Johanneshof Reinisch Estate is renowned for its production of elegant and refined red wines but also produces remarkable white wines, often under these internationally, from grape varieties such as Riesling and Grüner Veltliner. The red wines are deep and enticing, featuring notes of spices, black fruits, and a rich complexity.
