Smallest DOC in Portugal (~3,500 ha) between the Douro and the Dão, first delimited region for sparkling wines in the country, altitude vineyards 500–900 m on granite soils. Traditional-method sparkling wines are the signatures: Malvasia Fina, Cerceal, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in fine cuvées with notes of green apple, citrus, brioche, white flowers and a mineral touch, elegant bubble and altitude freshness.
