The Pierre Gelin Estate is a winery located in Côte de Nuits in France. It is one of the largest estates in Burgundy, extending over more than 25 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Nuits. The estate has been operated by the Gelin family for over six generations. The Pierre Gelin Estate mainly produces red wines from the Côtes de Nuits and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, and produces high-quality Pinot Noir wines. The clay-limestone soils are conducive to a good ripening of the grapes and provide wines that are both powerful and elegant. The work in the vineyard is very important for the Gelin Estate. Indeed, they use traditional methods to work the vine with low yields to ensure the quality of the wines produced. The vineyard management is very reasoned and does not include any chemical products. The Pierre Gelin estate produces three grand crus: Clos de Vougeot, Les Cras, and Chapelle-Chambertin. Their emblematic cuvée is the "Monopole Gelin", a Pinot Noir of exceptional quality. The Pierre Gelin Estate also offers a wide range of Prestige and Classic wines. These wines are made from traditional varieties and blended with La Grande Cuvée. The wines are aged in very old oak barrels for many months, which gives them fine, lingering flavors. The Pierre Gelin Estate is recognized as one of the best producers in Burgundy. They are highly appreciated by sommeliers and connoisseurs for their exceptional quality and their respect for the region's wine culture.
