The wine region of Victoria
Victoria is a relatively small but important Australian wine state. Located in the Southeastern corner of the continent, with a generally cool, ocean-influenced Climate, Victorian wine is remarkably diverse, producing all sorts of wines and styles in different climates. In all, the state covers almost 250,000 square kilometres (over 90,000 square miles) of land (almost the same Size as the US state of Texas), well under a quarter the size of its western neighbour, South Australia, and less than a third the size of New South Wales to the North. The word of the wine: Effervescent
Any wine loaded with CO2 (carbon dioxide), which is revealed in the form of bubbles, reinforcing the freshness effect in the mouth. This gas production is the result of what is called the second fermentation in the bottle. It occurs in champagnes and sparkling wines such as crémants.
