Discover the grape variety: Cabernet blanc

Aromatic, tense whites with a lean palate and firm acidity. Intense aromas of elderflower, passion fruit, mango, gooseberry, citrus and herbaceous boxwood notes reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc. Mildew- and powdery-mildew-resistant interspecific variety, driving organic viticulture in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Swiss hybrid created in 1991 by Valentin Blattner.

The wine region of Falerio

DOC of Le Marche (1975) on the Colli Ascolani (Ascoli Piceno), Apennine clay-limestone hills at 150–250 m, temperate Mediterranean climate. Signature white blend based on Trebbiano Toscano (structure), indigenous Passerina and Pecorino (10–30% each): dry and crisp with citrus, green apple, herbs, white flowers and a mineral touch, lively acidity. Pecorino adds complexity and length, Passerina floral freshness. Refreshing with antipasti.

The wine region of Marche

Italian star of Verdicchio: exceptional age-worthy whites, straight and mineral with signature notes of green almond, lemon, green apple, dry herbs and a slightly bitter finish. Two DOCGs: Castelli di Jesi (coastal, airy) and Matelica (inland, more concentrated). Mediterranean reds: fleshy Montepulciano in Rosso Conero near Ancona, supple Sangiovese. Also fresh Pecorino and Passerina.

The word of the wine: Broker

In the past, he was a sort of fraud control agent who had to watch over the quality of merchant wines (he could carry a sword!). His function has evolved towards expertise (it was the brokers who established the famous 1855 classification in Bordeaux) and today he puts the producer in contact with the merchant.
