This former French château dating back to the XVth century was purchased by the Cazaubon family in 1933. In this era, the Cazaubons devoted years to restoring and modernizing the building. They also developed the vineyard and began to produce wines of an exceptional quality. Among the 40 hectares of vineyards surrounding Château Tayac are clayey and sandy soils which are perfect for growing high-quality vines. The variety of vines planted is Cabernet Sauvignon, which is the main variety, in addition to Merlot and Petit Verdot. Château Tayac produces three different wines, including the classified grand cru, Tayac. It is produced using the best Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on the estate. The wine has an intense and fruity nose, with aromas of blackcurrant, liquorice and spice. The taste is woody and balanced, with well-rounded tannins and a lovely length on the palate. Château Tayac also has a restaurant open to everyone, where visitors can enjoy breathtaking landscapes and taste exceptional wines.
