Château Sénéjac is a wine estate of the Haut-Médoc appellation located in the heart of Bordeaux, in Pauillac. It is one of the oldest properties of the appellation, with origins stretching back over seven centuries. Since the 1950s, the vineyard has been under the management of its current owners, brothers Yves and Jean Delmas. When they took over the wine estate, they implemented a programme of modernisation and renovation of the facilities and vines. The Château Sénéjac vineyard stretches over 43 hectares, along the coast of Médoc and the Gironde River. The soils consist of a mix of clayey gravels on well-undulated reliefs, typical of the Bordeaux region. The vineyard is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The vines are cultivated with an extreme demand and care, respecting biodiversity and optimising yields to obtain wines of excellence at each harvest. The grape harvest is carried out by hand and the grapes are then vinified in old wooden vats. The estate produces two wines: the Bourgeois Cru Château Sénéjac and the Grand Cru Classé Château Sénéjac. The wines are rich, complex and expressive, with a spicy and fruity nose and powerful, well-integrated tannins. Château Sénéjac is also recognized for its great balance between tannins, power, and aromatic elegance. Château Sénéjac is an estate looking towards the future, but deeply rooted in its roots. With the passion and expertise of the Delmas brothers, the estate continues to produce exceptional wines and advance its legacy.

Discovering the wine region of Haut-Médoc

Structured Bordeaux AOC upstream of the Gironde north of Bordeaux: signature Cabernet Sauvignon as king red on the gravel mounds — deep-coloured and tannic with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, tobacco and a hint of spice, structured and age-worthy. Supple Merlot on clay soils adds roundness (plum, red fruits). Dense Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc complete it. Evolving bouquet (roast, truffle, prune, leather).

5 Classed Growths (1855). AOC (1935), well-drained gravels, oceanic.
