The Château Pontet-Canet is one of the oldest and most prestigious vineyards in the renowned wine region of Bordeaux in France, encompassing 575 hectares of vines. The wine estate is located in Pauillac, a small village situated about 45 kilometers east of Bordeaux. The vineyard is located on the banks of the Garonne, on the western slope of the right bank of the Médoc and of the Gironde estuary. The estate is controlled by the Cruse family, who took possession of the estate in the early 19th century. Château Pontet-Canet is best known for its red wine, production of which dates back to 1860, with a purer red and higher alcohol content than most Bordeaux wines. The wine is composed of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, a bit of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It is produced from grape varieties grown on the estate, which makes it unique. The estate also has very old vines and acremonies vines, grape varieties that produce exceptional wines. Each year, Château Pontet-Canet produces between 450,000 and 500,000 bottles.
