. Château Mongravey is located in the Bordeaux wine region of Graves, in an area called Margaux. The property was founded in 1959 by Claude Rollet, who purchased the ruined vineyard of Comte de Moussac and began to refurbish it. He handed over the house of wine to the talented oenologist Michel Rolland, who was able to fully utilize the exceptional and ancient terroir of Mongravey. Today, Château Mongravey consists of 37 hectares of vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The vines are planted in shallow gravel soils with sub-soils made up of clay and limestone marls. Various techniques such as organic corrections, reasoned struggle, and parcel vineyard management are used to preserve the terroir and the terroir produces high-quality wines. Château Mongravey produces two high-quality cuvées: Château Mongravey Margaux and Château Mongravey Baronne Philippe. The Baronne Philippe cuvée presents complex notes of red fruits, caramel, vanilla and spices, while the Château Mongravey Margaux is known for its flavors of red and black fruits and its CigarBox notes. The wines are perfect to enjoy alone, to accompany cheese and meat, or simply with friends and colleagues. Château Mongravey is an intimate and exclusive wine estate, with wines that reflect its history and rich terroir. The wines, a result of constant efforts and attention to the vineyard, blend finesse and power to offer rich and complex tastes.
