Château Ferrière is a winery in Margaux, France and a member of the prestigious 1855 classification of classified Bordeaux wines. Founded in 1873 by Baron Gustave de Mieulle, the estate is located on the gravelly plateau of the Labarde and Arsac townships, south of the Margaux commune. The Château Ferrière vineyard covers 22 hectares and is composed of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. It is cultivated on gravelly and clayey soils. The vines at Château Ferrière are managed using a sustainable cultivation method and benefit from exceptional sunlight. Around the château are parcels of vines ranging from 10 to 50 years old. The selection of grape clusters is rigorously done by hand at the end of August in order to achieve complete mastery of the entire winemaking process. At Château Ferrière, the wines are aged in new barrels to 40% for its signature cuvée: Château Ferrière “Tradition” as well as for its second wine, “Château Ferrière “Le Domaine”. The wines are aged between 15 and 18 months, giving them power and elegance. Château Ferrière thus offers a harsh and powerful wine, but one that is not unbalanced but reveals aromas of black fruit and licorice. In the 1960s, Château Ferrière revamped its vision of wine by prioritizing quality over quantity thanks to the contribution of the oenologist Gérard Perse and the wine consultancy of Robert Parker. As a result, Château Ferrière is a reference in terms of distinction and pleasure. Each bottle of Château Ferrière is a delight for the tastebuds and for the eyes, from its signature cuvée to its "Grand Cru" cuvées.
