Emerging wine region of British Columbia east of Vancouver, cool maritime climate with abundant rainfall tempered by the Pacific, organic silty soils. Pinot Noir is the signature red: precise and expressive with notes of cherry, raspberry, flowers, and a spiced touch, fine tannins. Spiced Pinot Gris and taut Chardonnay as whites. Cool-climate hybrids Bacchus, Siegerrebe, and Reichensteiner with aromatic notes of citrus, elderflower, and muscat.
