A very old variety that has been multiplied in many Mediterranean wine-producing countries, due to the fact that its grapes ripen quite late. The wine region of Leytron
The wine region of Leytron is located in the region of Valais of Switzerland. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Gilbert Devayes or the Domaine Defayes et Crettenand produce mainly wines red, white and sweet. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Leytron are Pinot noir, Humagne rouge and Diolinoir, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety.
