The wine region of Chios
Greek island of the eastern Aegean (Mount Amani, terraces up to 450 m facing Turkey), maritime Mediterranean climate. Legendary indigenous Ariousios (ancient wine praised by Strabo) is the flagship red — deep with intense notes of dark fruits, ripe cherry, Mediterranean herbs and a refined solar-balsamic character, taut structure. Agianniotiko, Mandilaria and Fokiano as supple reds. Assyrtiko, Athiri, Moschato Aspro and Savatiano as lively whites with citrus and a saline-iodine touch.

West Turkish coastal region (Izmir, Manisa, Denizli, Aydin), ~53% of national production, sunny Mediterranean climate. Sultaniye: light and fresh with citrus, apple, melon. Bornova Misketi: aromatic and floral (rose, honey). Reds: Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah dense and sunny (blackcurrant, blackberry, pepper, garrigue, firm tannins) — international varieties that ripen perfectly here.
