High-altitude GI of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), plateau 800–1,100 m on the Santa Catarina border, cool climate (6–26 °C), day/night temperature swings up to 15 °C, draining basalt soils. Chardonnay is the signature white king: taut with citrus, green apple, white flowers and a mineral touch, vibrant acidity — ideal base for sparkling wines.
