The wine region of Elgin is located in the region of Cape South Coast of Western Cape of South Africa. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Paul Cluver or the Domaine Matthew Van Heerden produce mainly wines white, red and pink. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Elgin are Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Merlot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. Cabernet Franc is now used in some twenty countries in Europe and throughout the world.
