The wine region of Redondo is located in the region of Alentejo of Alentejano of Portugal. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Herdade do Freixo or the Domaine Herdade do Freixo produce mainly wines white and red. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Redondo are Alvarinho, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Redondo often reveals types of flavors of citrus fruit, microbio or oak and sometimes also flavors of tropical fruit, non oak or tree fruit.
In the mouth of Redondo is a powerful. We currently count 2 estates and châteaux in the of Redondo, producing 9 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Redondo go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or veal.
