The wine region of Mantinia is located in the region of Arkadia of Peloponnesos of Greece. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Semeli or the Domaine Bosinakis produce mainly wines white, pink and red. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Mantinia are Moschofilero, Agiorgitiko and Assyrtiko, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Mantinia often reveals types of flavors of citrus, earthy or red fruit and sometimes also flavors of black fruit, floral or dried fruit.
We currently count 28 estates and châteaux in the of Mantinia, producing 55 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Mantinia go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or game (deer, venison).

There’s been a focus on making wine production less energy intensive as well as environmentally friendly in order to address climate change. The efforts continue but, as is the case for electric cars where it’s the battery technology that needs innovating, it’s in wine bottles where we’re seeing rapid change.
