The wine region of Ioannina is located in the region of Epiros of Greece. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Glinavos or the Domaine Glinavos produce mainly wines sparkling, red and white. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Ioannina are Agiorgitiko et Gewurztraminer, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Ioannina often reveals types of flavors of iron, microbio or honey and sometimes also flavors of saline, savory or orange blossom.
We currently count 1 estates and châteaux in the of Ioannina, producing 7 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Ioannina go well with generally quite well with dishes of rich fish (salmon, tuna etc), spicy food or sweet desserts.
