Mavrud the red signature (ancient indigenous variety with blue-black skin, harvested mid-October): deep and colourful with blackberry, black cherry, candied plum and liquorice touch, firm tannins and lively acidity — ages superbly in oak (leather, tobacco, spices). Dense Cabernet Sauvignon and supple Merlot as complements. Bulgaria's great identity grape.
