Discover the grape variety: Durize

Structured, fresh reds with a sustained purple robe, firm tannins and an ample palate with preserved acidity, showing signature aromas of red fruits (cherry), spices and fresh alpine notes. Modest ageing profile. Preserved for its heritage value in the Valais vineyards, contributing to artisan high-altitude cuvées produced by a few growers dedicated to rare varieties. Swiss autochthonous black grape from Valais, grown in negligible quantities.

The wine region of Schaffhausen

Wine canton of northern German-speaking Switzerland, nicknamed "Blauburgunderland". Signature Pinot Noir (Blauburgunder, 60-70%): fine, silky reds with signature notes of cherry, raspberry, undergrowth, sweet spices and a chalky mineral touch, delicate tannins and taut freshness — compared to fine village Burgundies. Klettgau is the flagship sub-region. Müller-Thurgau whites (local Riesling-Silvaner) lively and fruity (apple, citrus).

The word of the wine: Density per hectare

Number of vines per hectare. For the same yield, a vine planted with 3,000 vines per hectare bears many more bunches (per vine) than a vine planted with 10,000. The grapes will therefore be less rich in sugar and polyphenols (tannins, aromas...).
