In Bordeaux, it was used in the production of vins clairets and was present in the Loire Valley where today it is only used in the AOC Touraine and Rosé d'Anjou. The wine region of Bairrada is located in the region of Beiras of Portugal. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Colinas de São Lourenço or the Domaine Cantanhede produce mainly wines red, sparkling and white.
