The wine region of Amelia
Umbrian DOC in the south-west of the region (province of Terni, towards Orvieto), rolling hills with temperate climate. Sangiovese (≥50%) as the signature balanced red: lively notes of cherry, raspberry, violet, undergrowth and a spiced-tobacco touch, firm tannins and elegant freshness. Merlot and Ciliegiolo as supple complementary reds. Trebbiano (50–70%) as a crisp white with flowers and green apple; aromatic Grechetto, Malvasia and Verdello as complements.
