Central valley of San Juan (Argentina), 2nd national wine zone (~46,000 ha), altitude 600–1,400 m, desert climate with strong diurnal range, Andean glacial irrigation. Syrah is the flagship red (emblem of San Juan): powerful and sun-drenched with notes of blackberry, black cherry, stewed plum, pepper, violet and spice, round tannins and brilliant altitude fruit.
