Intensely coloured, simple reds with an opaque purple robe (red pulp), supple tannins and a light palate with moderate acidity, featuring discreet aromas of red fruits. Teinturier profile. Once used to intensify the colour of blends, now marginal and surviving in a few plots in Beaujolais and Burgundy as well as in ampelographic collections. Historic Tuscan DOC in artisanal passito method: signature blend of Trebbiano (chiseled acidity) and Malvasia (body, texture, perfume) as sweet white king — grapes dried on mats or hung in lofts, concentrating sugars and aromas, slow fermentation in caratelli (50-300 L). Aged ≥3 years in barrels ≤500 L, amber robe, signature robust concentrated profile with dried apricot, honey, candied fruit, walnut and spice notes, balanced freshness.
