Nuits-Saint-Georges is a town in eastern Burgundy which gives its name to the Côte de Nuits, the Northern half of the Côte d'Or wine district. It is known for relatively Powerful, Complex red wines from the Pinot Noir grape variety. This represents 97 percent of production, with a small amount of white wine made from Chardonnay. About 95% of all wines produced in the Côte de Nuits are made from a single grape variety: Pinot Noir.
