The wine region of Alsace Grand Cru 'Sonnenglanz'

Grand Cru of Beblenheim in Haut-Rhin (~33 ha, 220–270 m, south-east exposure, 10–25% gentle slopes, brown clay-limestone soils on Oligocene conglomerates and marls, very low rainfall ~600 mm): Pinot Gris is the signature king white (50%) — full and warm with ripe yellow fruits and honeyed notes characteristic of marl-limestone. Gewurztraminer (42%) opulent exotic spiced fruits, Riesling (8%) taut. "Sunshine" in Alsatian.

The wine region of Alsace

Capital of great French aromatic whites, most often dry and single-varietal. Straight, mineral Riesling (lemon, gunflint), opulent, exuberant Gewurztraminer (lychee, rose, spices), round, smoky Pinot Gris, floral, crisp Muscat, supple Pinot Blanc. Fine, fruity Crémants d'Alsace, exceptional sweet Vendanges Tardives and Sélection de Grains Nobles. 15,500 ha at the foot of the Vosges on varied soils, 51 Grands Crus since 1975.
