AVA (1984, ~5,000 acres) sub-appellation of Clarksburg (Yolo County, California) — island bordered by the Sacramento River and Elk and Sutter sloughs. Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Petite Sirah signatures. Cool maritime climate via the Sacramento Delta 25 miles south — refreshing breezes and fog extend the growing season.
