The wine region of Zakynthos
Ionian island (Zante) west of the Peloponnese, sunny Mediterranean climate tempered by the sea, hillside vineyards. Verdea is the historic signature white on Skiadopoulo and Pavlos: lively and oxidative, harvested slightly green, barrel-aged - citrus, yellow apple, dried fruits, honey and iodine, cutting acidity. Goustolidi aromatic and Robola taut among fresh whites. Avgoustiatis as fruity, spiced red.
The wine region of Ionian Islands
Greek PGI of the Ionian Sea islands (Corfu, Cephalonia, Zakynthos, Ithaca, Lefkada, Kythira), temperate maritime climate. Robola of Cephalonia is the indigenous signature white — taut and mineral with bright citrus, lemon, green apple, white flowers and a flint-saline note from limestone altitude (Mount Ainos), brilliant acidity. Golden Muscat and Mavrodaphne as sweet fortified historical cuvées. Rare indigenous Vostilidi, Tsaousi and Zakynthino as complements.
The word of the wine: Smoked
Qualifier of smells close to those of smoked food, characteristic, among other things, of the Sauvignon grape variety; hence the name of smoked white given to this variety.
