The wine region of Terre degli Osci
IGT of Molise (central-southern Italy, Campobasso province), Mediterranean-Apennine climate, varied hill soils, name of prehistoric Oscan peoples. Signature Tintilia as rare native red king (~111 ha worldwide, 97% in Molise): intense and spiced with blackberry, black cherry, plum, herbs, pepper and licorice touch, firm tannins and freshness — recovered Molisian identity. Supple Montepulciano and firm Aglianico as complements. Floral Falanghina and fresh Trebbiano in whites.
The wine region of Molise
Second smallest region of Italy between Abruzzo and Apulia on the Adriatic. Signature Tintilia as red king (native saved in the 1990s): dense and deep with notes of black mulberry, candied cherry, plum, garrigue, leather and spices, firm tannins and fleshy palate — the rediscovered pride of Molise. Supple Montepulciano (cherry, plum, liquorice), firm and structured Aglianico. Lively Trebbiano whites (citrus, flowers).
The word of the wine: Amber
(1) A colour close to amber, sometimes taken on by white wines aged for a long time, or by oxidising prematurely. (2) A term used on the label to designate white Rivesaltes aged for at least thirty months in an oxidizing environment.
