The Château Cros Figeac wine estate, located in the prestigious vineyard of Saint-Émilion, west of Libournais in France, is an ecologically rich and culinary appreciated gem. Bordered by two of the greatest vintages, Figeac and Cheval Blanc, the Château Cros Figeac, which stretches over about 5 hectares, enjoys an ideal geographical location. The soil of this unique terroir is of great complexity. To this day, it is recognized for its high content of sand, gravel and ferrous clay, perfect conditions for the cultivation of merlot and cabernet franc. The property is owned and managed by the Rémy family, who have managed to combine tradition, innovation and respect for the environment to produce high-quality wines. Each year, they emphasize an ethical organic approach, sustainable viticulture practices and minimal irrigation to obtain grapes that fully express the authenticity of the terroir. The entire Château Cros Figeac vineyard is planted with 50% merlot and 50% cabernet franc, which is quite atypical for the Saint-Émilion region where merlot usually dominates. This variety of grapes contributes to the development of unique wines, in which aromas of ripe black fruit, licorice, tobacco and spices mingle, supported by powerful tannins and balanced acidity. As for the vinification, the estate uses traditional methods, as well as modern techniques to reveal the unique characteristics of each grape variety. The grapes are hand-picked and undergo a rigorous double selection before and after destemming.
