Discover the grape variety: Lercat

Most certainly Pyrenean of Jurançonnais more precisely. It has long been confused with the lauzet, although its leaves are somewhat different. It is practically no longer present in the vineyards, which means that it is clearly on the way out. Published genetic analyses have revealed that it is related to one or more grape varieties, including Courbu Blanc. The wine region of Neuchâtel

Neuchatel is one of the smaller wine regions of Switzerland, located in the French-speaking western half of the country, North of the much larger Vaud area. Much like its neighbour, Chasselas dominates white plantings here, however Pinot Noir is more significant here, as is the reputation of Neuchatel's rosés. The region is generally referred to as the 'Three Lakes' as the region - and the four AOCs within it - are found on the relatively low-lying, flatter land, centered around the lakes of Morat, Bienne and Neuchatel. The region also covers three neighbouring Swiss cantons.

The favourable news was shared via emails seen by Decanter, with an accompanying letter from the INAO dated July 20, 2022. The letter, translated from French, states that after ...

Rhône 2022 en primeur diary: The south

A week in the life of a Rhône correspondent during en primeur… Monday 2 October Gigondas village. Credit: Matt Walls I start the week with a particularly challenging tasting: 120 samples of 2022 Gigondas, tasted blind. It’s challenging not just because of the number of wines (though high), but their tannic intensity this year. Picking them apart requires sustained concentration. Some are very good this year, others really not: a refrain of the vintage. Dinner at Les Florets near Gigo ...
