The wine region of Squinzano

Salento DOC (1976) north of Lecce, at the heel of Italy. Negroamaro (≥70%) is the solar red signature, with intense notes of morello cherry, plum, blackberry, garrigue, tobacco and a balsamic-spice edge, round tannins and a warm finish. Malvasia Nera and Sangiovese (≤30%) add aromatic depth. Also as a generous rosato bursting with fresh red fruits.

The wine region of Puglia

Heel of the boot, 80% red vineyard, sunny and generous. Fleshy, jammy Primitivo (= Zinfandel) with notes of black cherry, plum, chocolate and spices, powerful alcohol and melted tannins, a star in Primitivo di Manduria. Deep, structured Negroamaro (black-bitter) with a bitter finish in Salice Salentino. Structured Nero di Troia, spicy Susumaniello.
