Discovering the wine region of Telavi

The wine region of Telavi is located in the region of Kakheti of Georgia. Wineries and vineyards like the Domaine Marani or the Domaine Marani produce mainly wines white, red and sweet. The most planted grape varieties in the region of Telavi are Saperavi, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Goruli mtsvane, they are then used in wines in blends or as a single variety. On the nose of Telavi often reveals types of flavors of cherry, tree fruit or orange and sometimes also flavors of nutty, non oak or earth.

We currently count 17 estates and châteaux in the of Telavi, producing 33 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Telavi go well with generally quite well with dishes of beef, lamb or spicy food.
