The Bachey-Legros Estate is located on the Côte de Beaune in France. It was founded by Gilbert Bachey and his wife Françoise in 1824, but it was taken over by their sons, Jean and Maurice Bachey in 1920. Since then, the family has done their best to maintain the estate’s heritage and exceptional reputation. Bachey-Legros covers over 30 hectares in the heart of the Burgundy appellation, most of which are located between Beaune and Pommard. A large part of the vines are among the oldest and most beautiful in the region, providing the high-quality grapes necessary for their wine. Only the two oldest cellars in the region are shared by the Bachey-Legros Estate, which are an integral part of their expertise and allow them to produce exceptional wines. The estate produces a variety of red and white wines, notably red wines such as Corton Charlemagne, Meursault and Saint-Aubin Premier Cru Blanc, offering rich, aromatic and colorful wines. Each year, the estate's winemakers carry out a meticulous selection of the best cuvées, which reflect the exceptional Cote de Beaune terroir. The Bachey-Legros Estate has received numerous awards for its wines, notably the Guide to the 100 Best Wines of France 2017 and 2018, where its wines were distinguished. It is also one of the most communal vineyard operations, benefiting from an increasing number of people from different regions coming to taste and appreciate its products. The Côte de Burgundy/cote-de-beaune/beaune">Beaune is a key wine region in Burgundy, eastern France. It owes its name to its main town, Beaune - the epicentre of local wine production and trade. Renowned for producing some of the world's most expensive white wines (most of which bear the name Montrachet in one form or another), the region also produces a handful of Burgundy's finest red wines, including those from the premier crus Pommard and grand cru Corton. The Côte de Beaune is a narrow strip of land less than 5 kilometers wide, extending 25 kilometers to the northeast. Together, these two regions form the Côte d'Or, a region named after the Côte d'Or and characterized by the Côte d'Or limestone escarpment that forms its backbone. The importance of this escarpment to Côte de Beaune viticulture is hard to underestimate; not only does it protect the vineyards from the prevailing westerly winds, but it also provides gently sloping, free-draining vineyard sites with near-perfect South and southeast aspects.
